Architectural Salvage

There are gargoyle hunters
in the cities
armed with demolition tools.

A gargoyle’s task is to ward
off evil       to keep all well
What happens to their maternal genie-like powers
when they are carried off and relocated?

Do they take their natural forces with them,
serve as guardians to new owners?
Or is that life-giving energy
dispersed into the air
until its effective ability evaporates?

It is said sudden loss of family   friends   home
weakens the heart strings
makes the music less true

There are gargoyle hunters
in the cities
armed with demolition tools.
