Into each kernel of light, cascades
the earnestness of the stormwatcher
as he stands alone under somersaulting
clouds; the bluest ocean begrudging
the skyís greater depth, the sky
begrudging fields so maddeningly green
that they speak every word he meant to say
but didnít, wearing out his life instead
like the bristles of so many brushes.
works as an editor for a textbook publisher in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. He received his MFA in Creative Writing from Northwestern University, where he also currently serves as the poetry editor of TriQuarterly
