Moon Coyote
Juan Domingo
for Rafael Jesús González

Hey, moon coyote
of the silver light edge,
I've heard your howls
over the sabers rattling
over the dancers twirling
to dowse the world
with a clear water pledge
to heal
through howling
to envision
through moon watching
to love
through heart embracing
to face
the sun standing
for truth
to howl
to howl
to howl

Juan Domingo

Juan Domingo is a poet, painter, musician, and ritualist. He has shown his paintings in the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay areas, as well as having poems published in journals in those areas. He cofounded Xochipilli, a Latino ritual performance group blending poetry, dance, music, and story telling, dedicated to connecting with Mexican roots and myth, and to creating new expressions with which to inspire connection between mind, body, spirit, and soul, within various communities and events. His paintings, graphic poems (poems put into the graphic novel format), and drawings, many of the pieces experimenting with image, caricature, and word may be found at www.JohnnySunday.com.
