Sandy Steinman
began writing poems, essays, one-act plays and short stories, returning to Marin County CA, after ten years at Fairfield University in CT as Adjunct Professor of Fine Art Photography.
Numerous short stories and flash fiction, (often performed as solos,) and seven of her plays have been included in programs at the College of Marin, Kentfield, CA and "The Fringe of Marin's Short Play and Solo Festival "at Dominican University in San Rafael, CA. Last year, she performed two of her short stories as solos at The Fringe of Marin and more recently she performed “Eighteen,” a monologue, in Petaluma, CA at their Poetry Festival. Just last week two of her monologues were included and performed in a College of Marin show titled "Word Play"
Her poetry, prose and plays have won numerous awards at the Marin County Fair and have been published online in several literary journals including Doorknobs and Bodypaint, Amarillo Bay, Zimmerzine, Stirring, Moondance, The Adirondak Review and Eclectica.
She is a member of The California Writers' Group, The Marin Poetry Center and The Marin Actor's Workshop.
