Squadrons of daffodils
watching the traffic pass,
nod amongst themselves.

A Tulip-tree,
every year
I forget the proper name.

Martin Reed

is British, and aged 53. He is a writer/performer working in alternative theatre. Most of his output is related to re-creating the theatre, and also the everyday life, of various historical eras. Martin also sometimes aspires to be a poet, though sometimes he doesn't. Haiku is something that brought him back to writing after a long period away from it. He was re-inspired by Basho's maxim that 'poetry is higher than art'.
