Pónme flores en las trenzas
haciendo un río
en que floten las anémonas
y brillen las estrellas de mar.

Un río que se arroje
hasta el mar del amor.
Un mar para llevar el barco
de mi corazón
hasta tu lado,
tú, mi isla azulada,
tú, mi oásis
en un desierto dorado

Finalmente,
ábreme las trenzas
haciendo olas azules
y blancas, donde
juegan las brisas
y pájaros blancos
con sus patas de oro.

O, lléveme
                        Oh, carry me
envuelta en ti
                        enfolded in you
hasta que llore del amor;
                        until I weep with love.
encórveme, hágame al sauce llorón
Curve me, make me a weeping willow
al lado de un arroyo cantante.
at the banks of a singing river.
O, lléveme bailando por los campos
Oh, carry me dancing across the fields
haste que llore del amor.
                                              until I weep with love.
