JOHN BIRKBECK at age 72, is a late bloomer, and had not
published any poetry untill he was in his forties. He has
since become the author of five books of poems. His poems,
stories, reviews, articles and drawings have appeared in
hundreds of magazines, newspapers, and webzines and anthologies
world-wide. Back in the 1960s, John had formerly edited a gossip
column as well as a tall-tales column. He is also the host and
producer of a cable TV program called The Poets' Corner.
CHRISTINE HAMM live in New York City and works as
a psychiatric social worker. She has a Master’s in Creative Writing.

Diagram, Poetry Midwest, and Sniffy.
She recently was selected to represent Reed College at the Sarah Lawrence
Intercollegiate Poetry reading on April 3rd, 2002, in New York City.
Currently, she writes a column on contemporary art from a feminist perspective
on the new site, singlesfaq.com.
CHRISTOPHER NOVAK is a San
Francisco filmmaker and photographer. His work covers a broad range
of media; however, the underlying themes have centered on the relationship
between "natural" and "synthesized" environments.
LEILA RAE has been the editor of Doorknobs & BodyPaint
for the past eight years, and now, is the editor of riverbabble. She received her BA from
California State University, Hayward and is currently finishing her MA in Medieval Studies and Theory.
Her work has appeared in Fresh Ink, Good News, and other magazines.
MARJORIE ROMMEL lives in Auburn, Washington. A newspaper reporter and
editor for many years, she teaches creative writing at Highline and
Pierce colleges, and operates a public/media relations firm.

LIANN SNOW is an English lesbian, born in north Kent,
living and working in London. She writes songs, poems,
erotic memoirs, novels and short stories. She is also
an artist and a gardener. Her writing first found its
place in Sheba's groundbreaking anthologies of lesbian
erotica, Serious Pleasure and More Serious Pleasure;
and has since been featured in queer publications in
the United Kingdom and online. Liann Snow has been an
advertising copywriter for major department stores,
and in 1984 received a BA Honours degree in Modern
Studies from the University of North London.
BARA SWAIN's
short story, "The Daughter", appears in Long Shot Magazine's 20th
Anniversary Issue (May 2002). Her prose will also be featured in
the upcoming anthology, Love is Ageless: Stories About Alzheimer's
Disease (2nd edition). Her award-winning plays have been produced
in NY, Missouri, NJ, Tennessee and Iowa. Recent performances include
"Ideal Grace", First Place Winner, Dubuque Fine Arts Players National
International One Page Play Festival 2001 (Chez Laroe, NYC); and a
dramatic reading of selected short stories, "Your Health Comes
First...You Can Always Hang Yourself Later" (Kaufmann Theater,
American Museum of Natural History, NYC). Bara is the Dorsal Editor

DOUG TANOURY is primarily a poet of the Internet with the majority of his
work
never leaving electronic form. His verse can be read at electronic
magazines
and journals across the world.
The greatest influence on Doug's work was his 7th grade poetry anthology
from
Sister Debra's English class: Reflections On A Gift Of Watermelon Pickle And
Other Modern Verse (Stephen Dunning, Edward Lueders and Hugh Smith, (c)1966

D. HARLAN WILSON's fiction
has appeared in a number of American, British and Australian magazines,
among them Doorknobs & BodyPaint, Redsine, Eclectica,
Samsara Quarterly, The Café Irreal, The Dream Zone,
Fables, Locus Novus, Thunder Sandwich and 3
A.M. Magazine. His first full-length book, a collection of forty-four
stories called The Kafka Effekt, was published in 2001; and his
second story collection, Inoperative Communities, is scheduled
to be published at the end of 2002. Wilson holds two M.A. degrees, one
in English Literature (University of Massachusetts-Boston), the other
in Science Fiction Studies (University of Liverpool). Currently he is
working on his Ph.D. in Twentieth Century American Literature and Theory
