Telly Mcgaha pulls inspiration from his rural upbringing, progressive parents, moderate brother, post-modern sister, wise grandmother, his son, his partner's Caribbean roots, reading the works of Kentucky writers Sena Jeter Naslund, Silas House and Barbara Kingsolver, post-colonial writers, Baltimore, history, and domestic and world travel.
