Monica Vaughan

Monica Vaughan grew up in Texas on the outskirts of Houstonās Fifth Ward. She earned her Master of Music at Rice University and graduated with honors from the University of Houston Law Center. After working with her husband in a small oil and gas company they founded together, she taught L.I.F.E. Skills in a public high school for five years. Her work has been published in ENCODINGS, a feminist literary journal, and in a self-published collection called "Twenty-first Century Homemakers." She is a feminist homemaker who has created poems, composed music, organized recitals together with her son and friends, and held salaried jobs, all self-defining her homemaking projects beyond the boundaries of tradition.
